⚽ Game Format

5v5 (including goalkeeper)

Men’s Adult League (18+)

40-minute matches (2 × 20-minute halves)

Running clock

1 referee per game

⏱️ Substitutions

Unlimited, on-the-fly

Sub at the halfway line

Player entering waits until teammate fully exits

🟠 Ball

Official futsal ball (low bounce)

Size 4

🔁 Restarts

Kick-ins from the sideline
(Ball must be placed on or behind the line; no throw-ins)

Kick-in must be taken within 4 seconds

Opponents stand 5 feet back

🥅 Goals

Goals count only from open play

Kick-ins cannot score directly

Corners can score directly

🚫 Goalkeeper Rules

Goalkeeper may use hands inside the penalty area only

No punts or drop-kicks

Distribution must be by:

Roll

Throw

Pass from the ground

Goalkeeper has 4 seconds to release the ball

Back-pass allowed once per possession (no repeated back-pass abuse)

🟦 Blue Card (Sin Bin Rule)

Used to control reckless or unsporting behavior.

Blue Card = 2-minute sin bin
Player must leave the court for 2 minutes.
Team plays short-handed.

Blue cards may be given for:

Reckless or dangerous challenges

Persistent fouling

Dissent toward referee

Unsporting behavior

Tactical fouls stopping play

After 2 minutes:

Player may return at the next stoppage

If opponent scores during the penalty, the penalized team may return to full strength

🟥 Red Card

Violent conduct

Threatening language or behavior

Spitting

Serious foul play

Red Card = Ejection

Player is removed for the remainder of the match

Automatic suspension (minimum 1 game)

League review may apply additional discipline

🟨 Yellow Cards

Accumulation of 2 yellows = blue card

Referee discretion applies

🚫 Slide Tackling

NO slide tackling (goalkeeper excluded inside the box)

Any sliding challenge toward an opponent = foul

Dangerous slides may result in blue or red card

🤝 Sportsmanship & Conduct

Zero tolerance for aggressive or threatening behavior

Respect referees, opponents, and facility staff

Verbal abuse = blue card minimum

Threats = immediate red card + league discipline

🏆 Standings & Playoffs

Weeks 1–5: Round robin (each team plays every team twice)

Week 6: Playoffs

Top 4 teams qualify

Semifinals → Championship

Tie-breakers:

Points

Goal differential

Goals scored

Head-to-head

Coin toss (if needed)

📝 Final Authority

Referee decisions are final

League director reserves the right to remove players or teams for conduct violations

Playing in the league = agreement to all rules and code of conduct
