Skills Clinic: Sweeping

This session will be on ice at Tee Line and will be focused on sweeping technique, judging weight, and team shots. The session will be led by experienced instructors. Limited spots available. Please register as soon as possible. Priority will be given to people signed up to current leagues and club members. The session is not intended for brand new curlers. Having done at least a learn to curl is required. If there is less than 4 people signed up by 9/28 at midnight the session will be canceled.

Session Outline:

• Initial talk and demonstration from instructor on qualities of sweeping technique
• Practice sweeping technique with feedback from instructor
• Practice judging weight and calling numbers
• Participants form groups of 2 and do Sweeper vs thrower game. Taking turns throwing.
• Talk from instructor on team dynamics and how to make team shots
• Set up difficult shots like going through a port or a double, divide participants in teams of 4 and have them rotate positions and attempt to do the shot multiple times.
