TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Teams are divided into 4 groups with 6 teams per group.
League Matches: Every team will play 5 Matches with every team once within their group.
Top 4 from each group will advance to Pre-Quarter Finals.
Standings will be based in the following order: points,head to head and point differential.
Pre-Quarterfinals:
A1 vs C4
A2 vs C3
A3 vs C2
A4 vs C1
B1 vs D4
B2 vs D3
B3 vs D2
B4vs D1
Quarterfinals:
Bracket 1: Winner of A1 vs C4 and B3 vs D2
Bracker 2: Winner of A2 vs C3 and B4 vs D1
Bracket 3: Winner of A3 vs C2 and B1 vs D4
Bracket 4: Winner of A4 vs C1 and B2 vs D3
Semifinals:
Winner of Bracket 1 vs Bracket 4
Winner of Bracket 2 vs Bracket 3
Finals: Winner of 2 semifinalists.
RULES:
Toss:
Toss winner to select either service or court.
Players have to choose side (Deuce or Ad) they are playing on every set and they have to stick to their side until set is complete.
Points:
Winning team will be awarded 2 points in every match.
Scoring:
3 set matches with no ad scoring. (If game is tied at deuce, next team to win a point wins the game)
OPTIONAL IF BOTH TEAMS AGREE: 10-point tie break to decide 3rd set to save time. First team to win 10 points with 2-point difference.
Every set will be a tie breaker if score ends up at 6-6.
Tiebreaker: First team to win 7 points, by two, wins the tiebreaker.
Team who received during the 12th game or the game that made the score 6-6, will begin serving the tiebreaker.
Teams will change the side after every 2 games of each set.
Incomplete Game:
If the teams cannot finish their game on the same day , they can continue the following day or before thier next game from where they left off.
Breaks:
Quick breaks can be taken after every 2 games and 2-minute break after each set.
Line Calls:
It's a gentleman's game, players will take the line calls, but umpire can overrule. Umpire will take the call-in case of conflict.
Ensure an enjoyable league with quality opponents! Please report all acts of sportsman like conduct to the Umpire.
Unsportsmanlike behavior that includes, verbal abuse, bad line calls, excessive questioning of line calls, and consistently rude or argumentative behavior is not accepted.
Players will receive a verbal warning from the umpire and after two incidents from same player or a team, 1 game will be awarded to opposing team.
Net Situation and foot faults:
Your racquet can cross the net as a follow through shot, but it should not touch the net.
Your racquet should not touch the ball (contact point) just over net or across the net.
Umpires need to monitor the net and need to take the call accordingly.
Player must keep both feet behind the baseline until he or she has served.
Default:
If a match cannot be played due to personnel emergency, let's say for Team A then Team A can talk to Team B and
reschedule the match before the end of the league stage or else Team A will lose 2 points.
NOTE: Only on emergency, let's not make a habit or else it will be tough shuffling schedules and may delay tournament.
During match if player(s) from a team has any kind of injury then they can either forfeit or continue the game and must finish before the end date of the league stage
and if they can't finish, opposing team will get the win.
General:
Match should start sharp at scheduled time.
All matches should start with max wait of 15 mins. If any player(s) from a team don't show up within 15 minutes, they will be penalized 1 game.
Umpire decision will be final as long as it’s not biased. Umpires are requested to be fair to both teams.
Matches must be played with new tennis balls provided by tournament.
Advancement to next rounds will be scheduled on site .
INJURY POLICY/ WAIVER AGREEMENT
Everyone must sign the waiver form before playing the first game or else they cannot participate in the tournament.
