Player Eligibility and Conduct Expectations

A) All players must have submitted a signed league liability waiver before taking the floor for a game. Players under 18 years of age need that waiver to be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions.

B) As a recreational league with volunteer referees, complaining and/or arguing about foul calls or non-calls will not be tolerated. Calls will be missed, so expect it to happen and be ready to keep playing. Players will receive warnings during the first week of play for complaining about calls. After week one, technical fouls for complaining and/or arguing will be assessed immediately, resulting in two points for the opposing team and the offending player sitting out for the remainder of the half. Players receiving a second technical foul in the season will be ejected from the game and suspended for the following week. Players receiving a third technical foul in the season will be dismissed from the league.

C) Excessive swearing by players or coaches will not be tolerated, and after a verbal warning, technical fouls will be assessed to offending players or coaches.

D) Fighting of absolutely any kind is strictly prohibited, and can result in immediate ejection at the discretion of the referee or commissioner. Decisions on further suspension from future games is at the sole discretion of the commissioner.

E) Players that have competed for their high school teams in the current season are prohibited from playing in the Bench Mob League. Players may only compete for one team. Only players that have participated in four or more of their team's regular season games are eligible to participate in the league tournament.

F) In the event of any conflict regarding player eligibility of any kind, the league commissioner's decisions are final.

Rules
For the first four weeks of league play, all Bench Mob League games will follow these general rules:

1) Games will consist of two, 18-minute halves. The clock will run throughout the game but will stop for all free throws and dead balls in the final two minutes of each half. Halftimes are three minutes long.

2) If regulation ends in a tie, the first team to score six points in overtime will be declared the winner.

3) A team must have at least four players present in order to play a game. A team that starts a game with four but loses a player to injury or disqualification will forfeit the game.

4) Technical fouls issued to players or coaches will result in two points for the opposing team and possession of the ball. Players receiving a second technical foul in the season will be ejected from the game and suspended for the following week. Players receiving a third technical foul in the season will be dismissed from the league.

5) Five personal fouls in one game by any player results in disqualification.

6) Each team must have a supervising parent or coach present and on the team bench for each game, and that parent must be 30 years of age or older. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions.

After the first four weeks of play, the league will consider adjustments to game play, scheduling, and scoring in order to provide the best experience possible for all teams. The commissioner reserves the right to apply handicap scoring for some games; to use Elam Endings for all games; and/or make other adjustments.
