Pickleball Event 2025 – Guidelines

  1. Venue/Parking: Games will be conducted in Cypress College Pickleball courts. Please use roadside parking or college parking with College/DMV rules and regulations. CTS will not be liable for your parking violations. Google map view shared in the WhatsApp group for guidance.
  2. Game Timings: Game timings will be coordinated with players/teams by the organizers prior to the game.
  3. Covid & Personal Injury Waiver form: CTS Team will provide the Waiver form for Covid & Personnel Injury. Request all players to sign prior to the game.
  4. Covid Alert: If anyone has Covid Symptoms or signs of fever, cold, etc., Please avoid participation in the event or reschedule the games. Be socially responsible including cleanliness - keep the environment/venue clean, causing no damages to properties.
  5. Schedule: The Organizer Team will circulate the Match Schedule / Court details to all the participants prior to the game. Each Court will have assigned Individual Court Program Manager, so please coordinate with them. Fixtures will be shared prior to the event start along with groupings of the teams (except the game timing). Games cannot be rescheduled for any reason once it is confirmed or last-minute changes, kindly extend your support to conduct the games smoothly and on time.
  6. Toss: You can Opt for either side or serve upon winning the toss.
  7. Decision: The umpire's decision during a game is final in all matches. Let's play fair games and exhibit sportsmanship. Pickleballs will be provided by organizers.
  8. Snacks & Beverages Water/Energy Drink may be provided. Players will bring their Own personal drink/water based on your convenience as well. 9. Disclaimers: ● If for any reason the opponent is a no show then the game will be considered a forfeit by the no-show player and the opponent will be awarded with points. ● Organizers possess all the rights to change the set/game format anytime for any reason. ● Players to be present at the court based on the timings mentioned in the fixtures with no exception. ● No Substitute player is allowed in case of any injuries of players during the game. ● National pickleball rules will be followed beyond the ones mentioned below.

Pattern:
Doubles:
Round Robin - 11 points (1 set) match.
Quarters/Semi/Final - 11 points (3 sets) match.
Singles:
Round Robin (One Set 11 points). Quarters/Semi/Final - 11 points (3 sets) match.

Singles or Doubles: Played with 1 or 2 players respectively.

Win Condition: First to 11 points, must win by 2.

Scoring: No rally points, only the serving team scores points after side-out serving.

Serving Rules

Underhand Serve: Paddle must contact ball below waist.

Diagonal Serve: Serve must land in the opposite service court.

Two-Bounce Rule: Ball must bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed.

Any foot touches the baseline when serving is a fault

Serves may not land in the NVZ or on the NVZ line. On a serve, the ball must clear the non-volley zone and its lines. If the ball lands on the NVZ line (or inside the NVZ), the serve is a fault.

Server Rotation (Doubles):
o
First team gets one serve.
o
Afterward, both players serve before side-out.
o
Score format: [Serving Team Score] – [Receiving Team Score] – [Server Number] (e.g., 7–5–2).

Court & Equipment

Court Size: 20' × 44'

Net Height: 36" at sidelines, 34" at center.

Non-Volley Zone ("Kitchen"):
o
No volleys allowed within 7 feet of the net.
o
Players may enter the zone only after the ball bounces.

Faults

Ball lands out of bounds.

Ball hits the net and doesn’t land in the correct service court.

Volleying in the non-volley zone.

Double bounce on one side.

Incorrect server or receiver.

14.
Line Calls
• Ball touching any part of the line is in.

Players make their own line calls unless referees are present.
15.
Time-Outs

Each team may take 2 time-outs per game.

Time-outs last 1 minute.
16.
Conduct & Sportsmanship

Players must follow referee instructions.

Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in warnings or disqualification.
