Basketball Tournament Waiver & Release

By registering for and/or participating in this basketball tournament and related activities organized by Young Muslims and ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1) Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in basketball and related activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: falls, collisions, contact with other players, overexertion, equipment-related injuries, illness, property damage, serious bodily injury, disability, or death.

I voluntarily choose to participate and assume all risks associated with participation.

2) Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Young Muslims, ICNA, the event venue, organizers, staff, volunteers, referees, agents, representatives, affiliates, and any related persons or entities (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or liabilities arising out of or related to my participation in the event, including claims based on ordinary negligence.

3) Medical Authorization

If I am injured or become ill during the event, I authorize event staff to seek emergency medical care on my behalf if necessary. I understand that I am solely responsible for any medical costs incurred.

4) Rules & Conduct

I agree to follow all event rules, staff instructions, referee decisions, and venue policies. I understand that unsafe, aggressive, disrespectful, or disruptive conduct may result in removal from the event without refund.

5) Media Release

I grant permission to Young Muslims and ICNA to photograph and/or record me during the event and to use my name, image, and likeness for promotional, educational, social media, and organizational purposes without compensation.

6) Fitness to Participate

I certify that I am physically able to participate in basketball activities and that I will not participate if I believe doing so would be unsafe for myself or others.

7) Minors

If the participant is under 18 years old, this waiver must be accepted by the participant’s parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on the minor’s behalf.

8) Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.

9) Electronic Acceptance

By selecting “I Agree” below and submitting this registration, I acknowledge that I have read and understood this waiver and that my electronic acceptance is intended to be the legal equivalent of my handwritten signature.
