PPPCC Basketball Rules

MINISTRY:
All games will begin with an opening prayer.
Devotions occur after each game (except for those players playing in game 3. Players must meet during the 2nd half of Game 2).
Devotions are mandatory.

ADMINISTRATIVE:

Only players who have paid and registered and are approved subs for the PPPCC Men's Basketball League are eligible to participate in games. NO EXCEPTIONS. Teams may not pick up substitute players who are not paid and registered unless approved by a member of Leadership. Playing with ineligible players will result in forfeiture of the game.

If a team does not have 4 players at game time, subs who are registered on the PPPCC Men's Basketball League may be recruited to play as long as both teams are in agreement. The captain of the team with 4 players will have the opportunity to approve the subs. Subs may be found prior to the game if players are known to be unable to participate.

GAME PLAY:

IHSA rules will be used except for a few special PPPCC Men's Basketball League rules that are in place.

Games are played with 4 players on the court at a time instead of 5 due to the size limitations of the court. If playing on a substitute court both teams must agree if they want to play with the regulation 5 players.

Two timeouts per team per half (One timeout per overtime period).

Two 24 minute quarters will be running clock, with a 2 minute break at half. Overtime will be 2 minutes; 2nd overtime will be sudden death.

The clock will run stopping only for timeouts and whistles during last 30 seconds of the 1st half and 1 minute of the second half.

Fouls: Teams will shoot one bonus shot on the fifth foul of each half. On the 7th foul the team will shoot two shots.

Players who receive 5 fouls will no longer be able to play the rest of the game.

Rebounders can enter the lane on a free throw following the shooter's release of the ball.

CONDUCT:

Any player that receives two conduct related technical foul will be ejected and must leave the gym immediately. Further, such player must meet with discuss with Leadership prior to next game. Should such a player receive a third technical foul during the course of the season, that player may be removed from the league for the remainder of the season, and may be removed from any subsequent leagues.
All players should remember the purpose of our leagues and strive to be Christ honoring in their actions.

Bad behavior and conduct will not be tolerated even if a technical foul is not issued. Please remember, this is a church league and our actions should reflect it.
