Badminton Doubles Tournament – FAQ

Welcome to the official FAQ page for the Badminton Doubles Tournament hosted by St. Thomas Orthodox Syrian Cathedral. Below are answers to some commonly asked questions. If you have additional queries, feel free to contact the organizing team.

📅 When and where is the tournament happening?

The tournament will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at:

Venue: Fernvale Village, 61 Fernvale Link, Singapore 799956

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Who can participate?

  • All participants must be registered members of their respective churches.
  • Categories include:
    • Men's Doubles
    • Women's Doubles
    • Children's Doubles (12-15 years)

💵 What is the tournament format?

  • Tournament formats and pairings shall be published a week before match day. But in a nutshell there shall be an initial round robin stage followed by elimination playoffs. Each match shall be of 1 game except for the finals.
  • These are subject to change based on the volume of registrations

💵 What is the registration fee?

  • Adults: $25 per player
  • Children: $15 per player

Registration is complete only after payment is made through the online form.

📝 How do I register?

Only one form submission per team is required.

⚠️ Is there an indemnity form?

Yes. All participants must read and accept the Indemnity Form before completing their registration.

🏸 What should players bring?

  • Your own rackets and non-marking shoes
  • Water bottles and a change of clothes
  • Good sportsmanship and team spirit!

🏆 Will there be prizes?

Yes! Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winners and runners-up in each category.

🍽️ Will food or refreshments be available?

Lunch will not be catered, but light refreshments and snacks will be provided during the tournament. There are shops just outside the hall where you can buy lunch.

🤝 Can we come just to watch?

Absolutely! We welcome church members and families to come, cheer, and enjoy the fellowship.
