Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I good enough to play in a tournament?
If you have been participating in weekly pickleball and been playing at a level in which your serve is somewhat consistent, you are aware of the two-bounce rule and the non-volley zone. Then you are more than capable of playing in the tournament. Check out our Pickleball Action video: https://youtu.be/jjw0Ne-SxEY

How do I rate my pickleball skill level?
We have provided a self-rating guide before registering to help you rate yourself. Fairly proficient players fall in the 2.5 to 3.0 categories. 3.5 and 4.0’s players really have a good grasp of the nuances in the game of pickleball like setting up the point with dinking, ball placement, court positioning and sustained volleys.

Does my registration fee cover all three days of the tournament?
The registration fee is per division. For example, if you registered for the Friday Night 2.5 to 3.0 Mixed-Doubles, and then you wanted to play in the Women’s 2.5 to 3.0 Doubles on Saturday Afternoon. You would have to register again to play in that division.

Is there a discount for registering for more than one division within my skill level? Yes, use the discount code GAMMA or PBCENTRAL to save $10 off on registration.

Can I register as an individual and be placed with a partner?
Yes, you can register as an individual and you will be placed with a teammate on tournament day.

When is the deadline to register?
March 23rd is the last day to register. We highly recommend that you register in advance because spots are filling up as we get closer to the March 23rd deadline.

Can anyone participate in the tournament or do you have to be a member of the Willingboro Pickleball? This is a fun recreational tournament, all players are welcomed. Invitations have been sent to clubs and players from Connecticut to Maryland. Adult players must be between a 2.5 to 4.0 (please rate your skill level honestly). The youth tournament will be for kids 10 to 17 years of age.
